2K confirms NBA 2K25 delisting Oct 30, 2026; online servers to close at year-end
2K Games has announced that NBA 2K25 will be removed from all digital storefronts on October 30, 2026 and that online support for the title will end. The publisher made the delisting announcement in the weeks following the launch of NBA 2K27.
NBA 2K25 launched on September 6, 2024 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. The game received praise for its presentation, player animations, immersive commentary and improvements to MyCareer and The City. The delisting comes after barely two years on sale and follows 2K’s established annual practice of retiring older entries when a new installment arrives.
2K has set the game’s online servers to permanently shut down on December 31, 2026, with online functionality not available starting January 1, 2027. The publisher describes the shutdown as permanent and tied to the removal of online services for the title.
Features that rely on 2K’s online services will stop working when servers close; the company specifically lists MyCareer, MyTeam, online multiplayer, Online Leagues and community sharing among affected modes. Players will also be unable to earn or spend Virtual Currency (VC) through online activities after the shutdown.
Offline game modes will remain accessible after the servers go offline; 2K says Play Now, MyNBA, The W and MyWNBA will continue to function. According to the announcement, anything not connected to 2K’s online servers will operate normally following the delisting and server closure.
NBA 2K27 is now the current release and 2K Games has directed its resources toward the latest installment, effectively ending the NBA 2K25 lifecycle. The timing of the delisting and shutdown aligns with the company’s pattern of moving support to newer yearly releases.
The next confirmed steps are the removal of NBA 2K25 from digital storefronts on October 30, 2026 and the permanent shutdown of online servers on December 31, 2026, after which online features will be unavailable from January 1, 2027.
