The 3x3 basketball tournament at the 2026 Asian Games will be held at Kinjo-futo Station Square from 21 to 25 September, with 16 teams competing in each of the men's and women's events. Live coverage will be available on the Sony Sports network and via the Sony Liv streaming platform.

3x3 Basketball first appeared at the Asian Games in Jakarta in 2018, and the 2026 edition will be the sport's third staging at the Games. China won both the men's and women's titles at the inaugural event, while in the previous edition Chinese Taipei took the men's gold and China retained the women's crown. Across the two prior editions, six nations have won medals in the men's competition and four nations have reached the women's podium. From an Indian perspective, neither the men's nor the women's 3x3 team was selected for the Asian Games after failing to meet the Sports Ministry's selection criteria for major multi-sport events.

Each tournament will feature 16 teams split into four groups. The top-ranked team from each group will qualify directly for the quarter-finals. Second- and third-placed teams in each group will contest play-in matches, with the play-in winners advancing to the quarter-finals. This structure determines the route teams must take to reach the knockout rounds.

No nation has won multiple medals in the men's 3x3 competition to date. It will be interesting to see whether any team can stop China from completing a hat-trick of gold medals in the women's event. Those historical patterns frame the medal race heading into the 2026 tournament.

Broadcast arrangements for the Asian Games 2026 include live telecasts on the Sony Sports network. Fans will also be able to stream the action on the Sony Liv website or using the Sony Liv app, providing access to matches across the five-day tournament.
