Aakash Chopra said in a Times of India article published on 2026-10-19 that Vaibhav Sooryavanshi may not find a place in India's T20I squad soon.
He cited a lack of available spots because established top-order batters have been performing consistently. Chopra suggested releasing Sooryavanshi to the Ranji Trophy if he continues to sit on the bench.
He also defended Tilak Varma, saying critiques of his performance are not justified.
