Abhinav Bindra urges athletes to question coaches and systems

Indian shooting legend Abhinav Bindra urged athletes to question their coaches, training methods and sporting systems in a Times of India article published on October 16, 2026.

He said asking questions should not be mistaken for indiscipline and that curiosity helped shape his own success.

The 2008 Olympic gold medallist warned that restricting athletes’ freedom to speak could hinder growth.

Bindra has also won World Championships gold and served eight years on the IOC Athletes’ Commission.
