AIFF directs clubs to upload all player contractual documents to CRS

The All India Football Federation on 24 August 2026 issued a circular directing member clubs to upload side letters and allied contractual documents alongside player employment contracts onto the AIFF Centralised Registration System (CRS). The federation made the uploading of these accompanying documents mandatory for affiliated clubs.

The circular, addressed to all AIFF member associations, followed a decision by the AIFF Players’ Status Committee in the matter of Dom Sahil Krishna Tavora v. Jindal Football Private Limited. AIFF said the measure was intended to ensure transparency in player contracts and to avoid any further problems regarding contracts. It specified the range of documents to be submitted, stating: “All affiliated clubs must mandatorily upload every side letter, player bonus agreement, image rights agreement, addendum, or separate financial arrangement executed with a player directly onto the AIFF Centralised Registration System (CRS), alongside the primary Player Employment Agreement.”

AIFF instructed clubs to implement the requirement without delay, noting the urgency of immediate compliance. “The mandatory uploading of all such accompanying documents and side letters shall take effect immediately and shall strictly apply to all transactions registered during the ongoing transfer window from June to August 2026.”

The federation confirmed the obligation covers transfers already completed in the current summer window and offered procedural support for incomplete registrations. “In case a Club has failed to upload any such documents, it shall contact the Players’ Status and Registration Department (PSRD) for assistance in uploading the missing documents.”

AIFF warned of formal consequences for non-compliance and framed the failure to upload documents as a regulatory breach. “Any failure, suppression, concealment, or omission by a club to upload complete contractual documents and side letters on the CRS shall be deemed a violation of the AIFF regulations and procedural norms, rendering the concerned entity subject to appropriate disciplinary proceedings and sanctions”, it concluded with.

Clubs are therefore required to ensure all side letters, bonus agreements, image rights agreements, addenda and separate financial arrangements executed with players are uploaded onto the CRS alongside the primary Player Employment Agreement, and to contact the Players’ Status and Registration Department for assistance if documents from transfers registered between June and August 2026 remain outstanding.
