AITA, Bopanna criticise Sports Ministry omission of Dhamne and Adkar from India’s 2026 Asian Games tennis squad

The All India Tennis Association’s 12-member recommendation for India’s 2026 Asian Games tennis squad was cut to seven by the Sports Ministry, resulting in the omission of Manas Dhamne and Vaishnavi Adkar despite their induction into the government’s Target Asian Games Group earlier this year.

Rohan Bopanna criticised the decision, while the Sports Ministry said it was following a medal-potential policy that prioritises medal prospects over sending players for exposure.
