AITA launches AI Coach beta to give Indian players quick access to rankings and head-to-head data

The All India Tennis Association (AITA) on 2026-10-29 launched AI Coach, a beta digital tool that lets Indian tennis players access rankings, ranking points and head-to-head records of opponents in one place.
AITA described the platform as an early step toward making player information more accessible to the Indian tennis community, saying the tool allows users to search for individual opponents and retrieve relevant details to help study match-ups ahead of competitions. The service is available in beta and is presented as a resource to assist preparation rather than as a replacement for coaching staff.
AI Coach’s core functions focus on centralising basic competitive data: rankings, ranking points and previous meetings between players. AITA said the platform is intended to help players gather information before competitions and to make such information easier to find for those who may not have extensive support teams.
The association acknowledged limitations in the current dataset, noting the platform is still at an early stage and that its usefulness will depend on the breadth and depth of information it can supply. AITA emphasised that rankings and head-to-head records provide only a starting point for preparation and do not cover other match factors.
The article states that recent form, playing style, fitness and performance on different surfaces also matter when preparing for a match, and whether AI Coach eventually covers these aspects will determine how useful it becomes beyond providing basic player information. AITA said it plans to integrate more tournament data to expand the database and offer players a wider range of insights.
AITA secretary Sunder Iyer commented on the launch: "The introduction of AI Coach reflects AITA's ongoing efforts to leverage digital innovation and technology to make tennis-related information more accessible to players. The beta launch marks an initial step towards developing a more data-driven resource for the Indian tennis community," Iyer said.
AITA said the current version would continue to be upgraded as more tournament data is added to the system; the immediate practical benefit for Indian players is easier access to opponent information that can assist match preparation, with the platform’s future value contingent on how regularly the database is updated and the level of detail provided.
