Ajinkya Rahane said he had been India's 12th man for two years, the Times of India reported on August 7, 2026, following his recent announcement that he was retiring from all forms of cricket.

Rahane scored 5,077 runs in 85 Test matches at an average of 38.46, including 12 centuries and 26 half-centuries.

He played 90 One-Day Internationals, scoring 2,962 runs at an average of 35.26 with three hundreds and 24 fifties, and featured in 20 Twenty20 internationals for India.
