Al-Hilal linked with Harry Kane and Ollie Watkins in latest transfer rumours

On 19 August 2026 reports said Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal had opened discussions over potential moves for England forwards Harry Kane and Ollie Watkins, with both players and their situations at Bayern Munich and Aston Villa featuring in the speculation.
Kane’s representatives are understood to have held talks with Al-Hilal and the Bayern Munich striker is reportedly open to a future move, while he also wants to remain at Bayern and has begun contract discussions in Munich; Ollie Watkins is said to have agreed personal terms with Al-Hilal, with differing reports on whether the Saudi side seeks one striker or several.
Gavi has declined an approach from Manchester United and expressed a desire to stay at Barcelona, the Spain World Cup winner reportedly turning down the chance to join the Premier League club.
Manchester United have also been linked to a lack of marquee signings this window amid reports the club are losing players, while Napoli are said to be interested in forward Joshua Zirkzee, who largely featured from the bench last season for Michael Carrick’s side.
Napoli have additionally been reported to have contacted Chelsea about Nicolas Jackson and made inquiries to Arsenal over Gabriel Jesus; the Italian club would need to sell a forward before completing a deal for Jesus, according to the reports.
AC Milan rejected a £8.5m offer from newly promoted Coventry for Ruben Loftus-Cheek as Coventry sought to bring the 30-year-old midfielder back to the top flight for the first time since 2023 when he last played for Chelsea.
Manchester City have lost Rodri, who signed for Barcelona on Tuesday, and new manager Enzo Maresca is exploring midfield options including Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton; Wharton’s price is unclear and City have already spent £116m on Elliot Anderson in this window.
Jack Grealish was reportedly sighted at Cardiff’s 1-1 draw with Wrexham on Monday, prompting links to a move to Wales, while Everton chief executive Angus Kinnear has shown interest in bringing the England international back to Hill Dickinson Stadium after a loan last season; Grealish could also remain at Manchester City.
Any transfer involving Kane would need to be concluded quickly because the Bundesliga transfer window closes on 31 August, and at the time of reporting Al-Hilal had not officially logged a transfer bid for Watkins.
