Carlos Alcaraz beat Alex de Minaur 6-1 6-4 to win the Vienna Open on 1 November 2026. The Spanish second seed maintained his perfect record in ATP 500 events this year.

Carlos Alcaraz is a seven-time Grand Slam winner. He is 23 years old. He entered the tournament as the second seed.

Alcaraz started the match strongly, his groundstrokes causing problems for De Minaur. De Minaur took five of the first set's seven games to deuce. Alcaraz converted three breaks of serve to take the opening set.

Alcaraz continued to apply pressure in the second set and De Minaur's trademark defence helped the 27-year-old Australian to save three break points. De Minaur was unable to fend off the championship point. After a gripping rally, Alcaraz whipped a forehand winner across the court to seal victory and then raised both arms in celebration.

The victory was Alcaraz's 16th straight win at that level in 2026. It extended a 26-match run at ATP 500 events that goes back to the 2025 Barcelona Open. At that Barcelona event he lost to Holger Rune.

The win was Alcaraz's seventh against De Minaur, maintaining his perfect head-to-head record. "I tried to be aggressive and show him that if he wants to win, he has to play better, more aggressive, more solid, and be smarter than me," said Alcaraz. "I'm just really happy that at the end I found my way, played great, and obviously it has been a really emotional and amazing week for me."

He completed the final in 87 minutes. His 2026 campaign includes titles in Doha and Tokyo.
