Alcaraz, Zverev and Sinner qualify for ATP Finals 2026 in Turin

Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev and Jannik Sinner have secured places at the ATP Finals 2026, which will be staged at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy, from November 15 to 22. Jannik Sinner, the defending champion, was the first of the three to clinch qualification and joins Alcaraz and Zverev among the current qualifiers.

The year-end tournament will mark the 57th edition of the singles event and the 52nd edition of the doubles competition, with Turin hosting the championships for a sixth consecutive year. Players’ singles rankings for qualification are compiled from 18 tournaments: the four Grand Slams, the eight mandatory ATP Masters 1000 events and the six best results from other eligible competitions. The top seven players in the ATP ranking race qualify directly, while the eighth spot is reserved for a Grand Slam champion ranked inside the top 20 who has not already qualified; if all top seven are Grand Slam champions, the player ranked eighth secures the final berth. The Finals use a round-robin format with two groups of four players, followed by knockout semi-finals and a final.

Carlos Alcaraz booked his fifth successive appearance despite missing several major events this season; his Australian Open and Qatar Open victories early in 2026 were significant contributors to his qualification. Alcaraz’s Melbourne triumph made him the youngest man to complete a career Grand Slam. He reached the Indian Wells semi-finals and exited early in Miami, then reached the Monte-Carlo final where he lost to Jannik Sinner. A wrist injury sustained in Barcelona ruled him out for the rest of the clay-court season and the subsequent grass swing, and on his return at the US Open 2026 he was beaten by Ben Shelton in the quarter-finals.

Alexander Zverev produced a multi‑Grand Slam campaign, winning his first major at Roland Garros and adding his first US Open title later in the season. He reached at least the semi-finals of all four Grand Slams, becoming the ninth male player in the Open Era to do so, and showed consistency across the Masters 1000 events. From the Indian Wells Open through the Munich Open he reached the semi-finals in four consecutive tournaments before advancing to the Madrid final. Sinner denied him titles in several events, and with the Italian out of some draws Zverev proved difficult for the rest of the field to contain.

Jannik Sinner was the first player to secure his spot for Turin and will attempt to defend the title he won last year by defeating Carlos Alcaraz in the final. Sinner’s 2026 Grand Slam campaign produced one major title, but he was beaten by Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open semi-finals, suffered from the heat in Paris, and withdrew from the US Open because of an injury. His qualification was driven largely by an exceptional run in ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, where he became only the second player in history to complete the career Masters by winning Indian Wells, Miami, Monte‑Carlo, Madrid and Rome.

With Alcaraz, Zverev and Sinner confirmed, three of the eight singles berths for the Nitto ATP Finals 2026 are filled and five places remain to be decided in the coming weeks ahead of the November 15–22 tournament in Turin.
