All men's kabaddi medal winners at the Asian Games

India beat Iran 40–34 in the Asian Games 2026 men's kabaddi final to win the gold medal.

Sunil Kumar-led India proved on the big stage that they are still the best team in the competition.

Kabaddi has always been a popular sport at the Asian Games. It made its first appearance as an exhibition sport at the 1982 Asian Games. Ever since it was introduced as a medal sport at the Asian Games in 1990, the sport has only grown.

India have maintained their dominance in the 10 editions of men’s kabaddi at the Asian Games, winning the gold medal a record nine times. Iran are the only team, apart from India, to compete for and win a gold medal. They won the Asian Games 2018 gold medal after defeating India in the semi-final and then the Republic of Korea in the final.

Iran have won the silver medal at the Asian Games four times. Bangladesh have won silver three times. Pakistan have won silver twice, and the Republic of Korea once.

Pakistan have won the bronze medal seven times. Behind them are Bangladesh and Chinese Taipei with two bronze medals each. India, the Republic of Korea, Japan and Thailand have won it once each.
