Amit Mishra said he battled depression for 18 months after being dropped from the Indian cricket team, before returning to the side in 2008.
He questioned his performance while continuing to play during that period.
A conversation with a selector helped him realise he needed to improve his domestic performance, and after reflecting he returned to the Indian team in 2008.
