Naked Rain and NetEase announced an official release date for Ananta and premiered a new gameplay story trailer at Gamescom 2026 ONL on August 28, 2026. The online showcase presented the title’s urban setting and offered the first public gameplay demonstration to fans.

Ananta is described by its creators as a free-to-play urban open-world action RPG. The developers confirmed the game will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Android and iOS. The presentation emphasized open-world activity and movement options rather than traditional linear progression.

The gameplay story trailer highlighted two main locations, Nova City and Lingyun City, both portrayed as vibrant urban environments filled with activities, missions and secrets. The trailer focused on the cities’ street-level details and the variety of encounters players can expect while exploring those areas.

Players assume the roles of A.C.D. agents charged with protecting the cities and investigating mysterious events hidden beneath the urban landscapes. The developers also showed story cinematics and systems that allow players to assemble their own squad within Ananta.

Side activities and traversal mechanics featured in the showcase include free-roam exploration plus movement options such as skateboards, bicycles, and parkour. The trailer’s combat sequences drew fan comparisons to Sleeping Dogs and to elements from Insomniac’s Spider-Man games.

The project was first announced in 2023 under the name Project Mugen and was renamed Ananta in 2024. A playable demo of Ananta was made available to attendees at Gamescom 2026.

Ananta will launch on January 15, 2026, as a free-to-play open-world action RPG on PC, PlayStation 5, Android and iOS.
