Anvay Dravid and Aaryavir Sehwag included in India’s 15-man squad for ACC U19 Asia Cup

Anvay Dravid and Aaryavir Sehwag were named on Friday in India’s 15-member squad for the ACC Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup, scheduled to be held in Muscat, Oman from November 5 to 14. The selections follow their performances in the domestic Vinoo Mankad Trophy.
Karnataka’s Anvay Dravid and Delhi’s Aaryavir Sehwag are both sons of former India batters Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag respectively. Both players recorded centuries in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, which contributed to their selection for the age-group tournament in Oman.
The 17-year-old Anvay produced one of the tournament’s standout innings, scoring 151 off 100 deliveries against Gujarat at the start of October and frequently contributed quick runs in the closing overs. He had earlier scored 87 off 67 deliveries for India in a Youth ODI against Sri Lanka at Hambantota in July.
The 19-year-old Aaryavir made a case for selection with a 173 off 143 balls for Delhi against Chandigarh at Vizianagaram in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, a performance that underlined his capacity to build a large innings in the domestic competition.
Lakshya Raichandani will lead the side with Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan as vice-captain. The squad list also includes wicketkeepers Anvay Dravid and Rajat Baghel and batting options V.K. Vineeth, Kushagra Ojha and Arjun Rajput among others.
