Archetype Entertainment sets April 7, 2027 release for Exodus and debuts new story trailer
Archetype Entertainment announced that its sci-fi role-playing game Exodus will launch on April 7, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, and revealed a new gameplay and story trailer during Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live. The trailer introduced new companions for the player’s party, including an Awakened octopus named Salt and a support member called Emrys of the Deva.
Exodus was presented as a science-fiction role-playing title in the Gamescom footage, with the developer confirming the April 7, 2027 release date and the supported platforms. Archetype Entertainment also reported that the game has surpassed 500,000 wishlists, and announced that players will receive an exclusive Celestial Star Map decoration for their in-game apartment as part of the campaign.
The trailer showcased Salt, described as an Awakened octopus capable of communicating with other species. Salt operates an advanced combat mech rather than fighting unassisted, and that mech forms the core of the character’s battlefield role.
Salt’s combat mech is presented with multiple tactical options intended to support a squad, including long-range attacks, enemy disruption and battlefield control. The trailer also displayed a sniper configuration for Salt’s mech and the ability to deploy smokescreens to confuse opponents, offering several approaches to engagements.
Beyond mechanics, the developers conveyed aspects of Salt’s characterization in the story footage: she has her own motivation and is willing to take more risks. The presentation positioned Salt as more than a conventional non-player character.
The other party member featured in the trailer, Emrys of the Deva, was identified as a support-focused companion. Emrys can weaken enemies and empower the protagonist through special abilities that involve Remnant Orbs, as shown in the new material.
