Arsenal chase City as Spurs head to Manchester United in Premier League matchday live

The Guardian published a matchday live blog on 10 October 2026 covering Arsenal’s bid to close the gap on Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur’s trip to Manchester United as the Premier League resumed.

The live blog highlights Michael Carrick being wary of 'Dr Tottenham', Oliver Glasner returning to Selhurst Park, poses the question 'will Manchester City summon a siege mentality at Anfield?', and includes Max Rushden’s line: 'Big Tone once held a door open for me at a buffet. It’s true (soz).'
