Arsenal offer 19-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly to Manchester United as left-back option
On 11 August 2026 Arsenal offered Myles Lewis-Skelly to Manchester United as a potential left-back signing in the summer transfer window. The Gunners are said to be aiming to recoup part of the £75m they paid to Newcastle for Bruno Guimarães.
Chelsea have also been informed that the 19-year-old is available, although whether the west London club will make a move for Lewis-Skelly is unclear. Lewis-Skelly was part of Arsenal's Premier League-winning squad under Mikel Arteta last term. He made only five league starts and a total of 36 appearances in all competitions in 2025-26. Lewis-Skelly signed a five-year contract with Arsenal last summer.
Arsenal's prospective asking price for Lewis-Skelly is thought to be in the region of £45m. That figure is reported to be within the range of Manchester United's summer spending so far. United's recent arrivals this window include Youri Tielemans, signed for £35m from Aston Villa, and Andrey Santos, purchased from Chelsea for £48m plus £2m of add-ons.
Newcastle's Lewis Hall remains Manchester United's prime left-back target. Hall is a 21-year-old England international. Newcastle have already lost Bruno Guimarães, Sandro Tonali to Tottenham, and Anthony Gordon to Barcelona this summer, and new manager Matthias Jaissle is intent the 21-year-old does not also depart.
RB Leipzig's left-back David Raum, aged 28, is another player United may assess as they consider reinforcements at the position. Chelsea's interest in Lewis-Skelly has been signalled only by their being made aware of his availability, with no confirmed approach reported. Arsenal's offer of Lewis-Skelly to Manchester United adds a younger, homegrown option to the list of names being considered.
Matthias Jaissle's stated intent to retain Lewis Hall complicates United's pursuit of that target, leaving the club to weigh alternatives such as the offered Myles Lewis-Skelly and RB Leipzig's David Raum as they continue their summer recruitment.
