Arsenal v Lille: Confirmed starting lineups for 2026–27 Champions League home match

Arsenal confirmed their starting lineups for their first home match of the 2026–27 Champions League against Lille at the Emirates on October 13, 2026. The fixture is part of the Champions League league phase.

The game is Arsenal’s first competitive meeting with Lille. On matchday one, Mikel Arteta’s side defeated Napoli 1-0 in Naples, while Real Betis beat Lille 3-2 at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, the visitors having been reduced to 10 men.

The report noted Arsenal remained unbeaten in the Champions League league phase since a 1-0 loss to Inter Milan in November 2024, and that their fortunate 13th consecutive victory arrived in Naples when Martin Odegaard again made the difference. It also records that the Gunners scored three or more goals in five of their last six home matches to this point.

Lille twice took the lead against Real Betis at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy but lost the match and were criticised for defensive indiscipline. Since Davide Ancelotti’s unhappy Champions League debut, Lille have collected six points from their last three Ligue 1 outings, defeating Troyes and Le Havre either side of an away defeat at Nice.

Arsenal’s recent European home form includes 18 clean sheets in their previous 25 Emirates fixtures in major European competition, including the last three; in that sequence they recorded 18 wins and six draws with a single defeat. That defensive record at home underpins the selection for this Champions League league-phase match.

Historically in the Champions League against English opposition, Lille had lost seven consecutive matches with the exception of a November 2005 win over Manchester United; of those seven defeats, six were by a single goal. Additionally, since a 2-0 victory over BATE Borisov in November 2012, Lille had not kept a clean sheet in any of their previous 12 Champions League away games.
