Glamorgan batter Asa Tribe has been denied entry to Saint Kitts & Nevis and will not join the England Lions squad for their series against West Indies A after travelling to Kenya, the England and Wales Cricket Board told BBC Sport Wales on 1 November 2026. The decision follows a short trip to Nairobi in late October where Tribe played for Jersey.

Tribe scored 940 runs in 14 matches for Glamorgan during the 2026 County Championship season. He played three one-day matches for Jersey in Nairobi in late October, lining up against Kuwait and Papua New Guinea, as well as against the hosts. He had been due to join England Lions for a series of T20 and one-day matches against West Indies A.

But concerns over an outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus in Kenya led to Tribe not being admitted to Saint Kitts & Nevis, which is hosting all the games. "Saint Kitts & Nevis currently have a 21-day non-entry rule in place for non-nationals who have been in Kenya due to the Ebola situation in Kenya and seven other countries in Africa," a spokesperson for the England and Wales Cricket Board told BBC Sport Wales. "Asa is back in the UK, and we are in touch with the relevant authorities."

England Lions won the first T20 by eight wickets on Sunday after bowling West Indies A out for 98, with Naavya Sharma taking four wickets and Scott Currie three. Captain Thomas Rew hit 50 not out as the tourists reached 101-2 in just 10.1 overs.

Tribe remains in the UK while the England Lions proceed with their scheduled T20 and one-day series against West Indies A in Saint Kitts & Nevis.
