Asian Games 2026 flag-hoisting for six contingents, including India, delayed over an hour

A flag-hoisting ceremony for six Asian Games contingents, including India, was delayed by over an hour on Friday during the Asian Games 2026.

Organisers attributed the delay to “miscommunication” between the OCA and ANAGOC; contingents were made to wait and later sent back.

India’s chef de mission Sahdev Yadav acknowledged organisational issues and said extra hotel rooms had been booked to minimise inconvenience.
