Asian Games 2026: India’s Day 2 schedule in Aichi‑Nagoya (September 21)
India will be in action on Day 2 of the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on September 21 as an updated schedule lists multiple events for the national contingent. The schedule follows an opening day in which India secured two medals, both in shooting.
India’s two medals on Day 1 arrived in shooting: the women’s 10m air rifle team of Sonam Uttam Maskar, Elavenil Valarivan and Vidarsa K Vinod combined for 1898.0 to win silver, while China took gold with a world-record 1904.2. Elavenil Valarivan also won silver in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle Individual, finishing on 252.4 points as Japan’s Hinata Taichi posted 253.0 to claim gold.
On Monday India will compete in swimming, badminton, mixed martial arts (MMA), hockey, kabaddi, sepak takraw, shooting, table tennis, soft tennis and wushu. MMA and shooting are identified as the primary medal opportunities, with both disciplines featuring medal events that could add to India’s tally. India can win a total of two medals on Day 2 (September 21) of Asian Games 2026.
In MMA, the Women’s Traditional 60kg semi-final bout features Suchika Tariyal, who has already secured at least a bronze medal by reaching the semi-finals. Her semi-final is among the MMA medal events scheduled on Day 2. The bout will determine whether she advances to contest for silver or gold.
India will contest the Men’s 10m Air Rifle Team final on Monday with Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon and Parth Mane in the line-up. That team final is part of the Day 2 shooting programme which also includes multiple qualification rounds. Progress through those qualification stages will determine India’s medal prospects in other shooting disciplines.
Nyeman Wangsu is entered in the Wushu Women’s Changquan final on Day 2. Maheshwari Chauhan, Parinaaz Dhaliwal and Raiza Dhillon are listed for the Shooting Women’s Team Final. Both the Wushu final and the Women’s Team shooting final are cited as medal-winning chances for India on Day 2.
