India will be in action on Day 7 of the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya on September 26, with athletes across multiple disciplines due to compete. Medal opportunities on the day include canoe sprint, kabaddi and shooting.

India have secured 19 medals so far at the Games. Shooting has supplied 10 of those medals, including the contingent’s second gold in the mixed team 10m air pistol event. That shooting tally comprises one gold, five silver and four bronze medals, while athletics is the only other sport to have produced multiple medals — a silver and a bronze.

Other Indian medallists to date include women’s cricket (gold), weightlifting (silver), wushu (silver), badminton (bronze), mixed martial arts (bronze), rowing (bronze) and soft tennis (bronze), with each of those disciplines contributing one medal.

India will arrive on Day 7 aiming to build on its haul, with canoe sprint, kabaddi and shooting singled out as immediate medal prospects. Athletes across those sports are preparing to add further podium finishes to the contingent’s total.

Kabaddi remains an event of particular interest, where India is a strong favourite to win a gold but will face intense competition from Iran. The Indian women’s kabaddi team routed Nepal to enter the final at the Asian Games 2026, according to event coverage.

Shooting continues to be central to India’s success: the sport has produced the most medals overall and recent results include India bagging silver in Men’s 50m Rifle 3P. Aishwary, Niraj have entered the individual final in that event, the related report states.

On September 26 in Aichi-Nagoya, India will seek to convert the Day 7 opportunities in canoe sprint, kabaddi and shooting into further additions to its 19-medal total.
