Asian Games 2026: India’s medal contenders on September 30 (Day 11)
India’s contingent at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi Nagoya enters Day 11 on September 30 with podium opportunities across compound archery, boxing, wrestling, track cycling, judo and shooting.
After a day that featured trap shotgun shootouts, boxing semifinals and a large evening relay sweep on the athletics track, the Indian team faces a busy schedule on Day 11 as multiple events move toward medal rounds. The compound archery competition is set to reach its team-event conclusion, while other disciplines will hold qualification series and medal contests throughout the day.
Compound archery will be contested in the morning session at Okazaki Central Park with the team events deciding medals across three categories. The Women’s Team semifinal is scheduled for 5:30 AM IST with Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Chikitha Taniparthi and Prithika Pradeep selected to contest that match. The mixed team of Chikitha Taniparthi and Sahil Rajesh Jadhav and the Men’s Team of Sahil Rajesh Jadhav, Kushal Dalal and Thirumuru Ganesh Mani Ratnam will follow in the subsequent semifinal and medal rounds.
In shooting, Zoravar Singh Sandhu and Manisha Keer must place inside the top four in qualification to reach the medal shootouts, which begin from 9:30 AM IST onwards. Their advancement depends on the outcome of the qualification series scheduled for the morning.
Boxing’s Indian lineup on Day 11 is headlined by Tokyo Olympic medallist Lovlina Borgohain in the 75kg category, with Sakshi Chaudhary (51kg) and Priya Ghanghas (60kg) among the women. The men representing India are Jadumani Singh Mandengbam (55kg), Sumit Kundu (70kg) and heavyweight Kapil Pokhariya (90kg), who aim to use lateral footwork and volume punching to progress into the finals.
On the track, the Women’s Team Pursuit qualification precedes the medal finals with the quartet of Meenakshi, Swasti Singh, Chayanika Gogoi and Pooja Baban Danole targeting the Women’s Team Pursuit Medal Finals at 11:58 AM IST, subject to morning timings. Sprint specialist Triyasha Paul is scheduled for the Women’s Keirin Final at 12:32 PM IST.
India’s judo and wrestling hopes on Day 11 include Junior Asian champion Asmita Dey in the lightweight division, who must navigate preliminary pool bouts using aggressive grip fighting and decisive throw transitions to reach the afternoon medal block. Asian Games bronze medallist Sunil Kumar will contest the Greco-Roman 87kg division relying on upper-body control and par terre defence, while Olympian Nisha Dahiya competes in the women’s freestyle 68kg division aiming for attacking takedowns to advance to the continental medal bouts.
India will compete in compound archery, shooting, boxing, track cycling, judo and wrestling on Day 11, with several athletes targeting places in medal bouts and finals.
