Asian Games 2026: India’s medal winners and live tally in Aichi-Nagoya

India’s medal winners and live medal tally at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, which run from September 19 to October 4, are recorded here.

India are competing in their 20th consecutive edition at the continental tournament.

Having clinched a record 106 medals in the previous edition held in Hangzhou, the Indian contingent consists of 499 athletes and is aiming to match that result.

Several leading names from the squad, including flagbearers Manu Bhaker and Pawan Sehrawat, will lead India’s medal charge.

Athletics, shooting, archery and wrestling have traditionally been the most successful sports for India at the Asian Games.

The country also arrives with strong squads in badminton, cricket, kabaddi and field hockey.

India’s live medal tally currently stands at 1 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals.

With five medals in their kitty, shooting leads the chart.

Elavenil Valarivan was the first Indian to clinch a medal in Aichi-Nagoya, winning silver in the women’s 10m Air Rifle individual event, and that silver is included among shooting’s five medals.
