Asian Games 2026: India’s schedule for Day 4, September 23

India will be in action on Day 4 (September 23) of the Asian Games 2026, with medal rounds scheduled in equestrian, shooting and weightlifting.

The opening three days have already produced significant action and medal success for India: the Indian contingent has already secured seven medals, with several more medal opportunities on the horizon. So far, shooting has been the most successful sport in this edition, having delivered five of the six medals the nation has won. With four silver medals and a bronze already secured, India’s impressive haul underlines the country’s growing stature and continued rise on the international stage in the sport. Mixed martial arts (MMA), making its Asian Games debut, produced a historic podium for India when Suchika Tariyal secured a bronze, while the Indian women’s cricket team successfully defended its gold; on the men’s side Varun Sanyal bowed out without competing after being declared medically unfit.

Equestrian competition on Day 4 features Cross Country Eventing in both the team and individual categories, providing medal opportunities for India, with six Indians scheduled to compete in those events.

Shooting will present three medal events for the Indian contingent: the women’s 10m air pistol team final, where Manu Bhaker is named to compete, and the men’s and women’s skeet team finals.

Weightlifting offers two medal finals on Day 4, with Mirabai Chanu entered in the women’s 49kg final and India also represented in the women’s 53kg final.

Beyond those medal events, Indian athletes will take part across swimming, boxing, fencing, hockey, kabaddi, sepak takraw and table tennis. India’s Day 4 schedule begins at 5.30 AM with sepak takraw.
