Asian Games 2026: Kamaljeet and Suruchi Singh claim 10m air pistol mixed team gold

Indian shooters Kamaljeet and Suruchi Singh won the gold medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the Asian Games in Nagoya on September 25, 2026. The pair recovered from disappointing individual performances to top the podium in the mixed-team final.

Kamaljeet and Suruchi advanced to the medal round after finishing first in qualification, a stage in which the top four pairs moved on to the final. In qualification they opened with a 196, added 195 in the second series to reach 391 after 40 shots, and posted another 196 in the third series to finish on 587, a total that included 29 inner 10s.

In the final the Indian duo amassed 484.6 to secure gold, finishing 6.6 points ahead of South Korea’s Suhyeon Hong and Gaeun Choo, who scored 478.0, while Iran took bronze with 415.8.

The Indians led after the opening 10 shots of the final: Suruchi began with 10.4 and Kamaljeet 9.7, then followed with 10.2 and 9.8 respectively on their second attempts. After those first 10 shots they had an aggregate of 202.4 and occupied the top position on the leaderboard.

A subsequent 101.3 kept Kamaljeet and Suruchi in the lead as the final progressed.

In their individual events earlier in the competition Kamaljeet finished ninth in qualification and Suruchi was 26th, with neither progressing to the individual final; India also missed out on medals in both the men’s and women’s team events.

The mixed-team final on September 25, 2026, left Kamaljeet and Suruchi as the Asian Games champions in the 10m air pistol mixed team event for this edition of the Games.
