Sony Sports Network will broadcast and stream the 20th Asian Games, which begin on September 19, 2026, in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Indian viewers will be able to follow the competition on the Sony LIV app and across Sony Sports television channels.

The tournament will feature 45 countries competing in 43 sports and marks the third time Japan is hosting the Asian Games after Tokyo in 1958 and Hiroshima in 1994. The Indian contingent posed for a photograph before the sending-off ceremony in New Delhi, and expectations are high for their performance after India clinched a record 107 medals at the 2023 Asian Games.

Live streaming of the Games in India will be available on the Sony LIV app, which allows viewers to watch on mobile and laptop platforms; this streaming service is available only to subscribers. The broadcast is planned in four languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.

Television coverage will be carried on Sony Sports 1 and Sony Sports 5 for live telecasts, with regional-language broadcasts on Sony Sports 3 (Hindi) and Sony Sports 4 (Tamil, Telugu and Kannada). These channels will carry the live action for viewers watching on TV.

India goes into Aichi-Nagoya aiming to build on its Hangzhou 2023 performance, where it secured 107 medals, including 28 gold. The Indian men's hockey team enters as reigning champions and is drawn to face Japan, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Indonesia in its group.

Shreyas Iyer will captain India’s title defence in the men’s T20 cricket tournament, while Harmanpreet Kaur leads the women’s T20 side. Defending javelin champion Neeraj Chopra will be absent after withdrawing because of an ankle injury; India will look to P.V. Sindhu in badminton, Mirabai Chanu will lead the weightlifting contingent, Manu Bhaker is cited as India’s best bet in shooting, and Aman Sehrawat is named among medal contenders in wrestling.

The Asian Games open on September 19, 2026, in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, and Indian audiences can follow the country’s campaign live via Sony LIV (subscriber access) and on the Sony Sports television channels noted above.
