During their race the duo were holding second at the halfway mark, three seconds behind China, before completing the race to secure the berth.

India’s men’s sepaktakraw team is scheduled to meet the Philippines in its final Group B match, while the men’s badminton side and India’s wushu competitors have already secured medals. The men’s hockey team recorded a lopsided Pool A victory, beating Sri Lanka 16-1 on Tuesday.

There were contrasting fortunes across shooting and table tennis on Tuesday, while India’s boxing contingent maintained an unbeaten run. Gymnast Pranati Nayak advanced by qualifying for the vault final, adding to the range of Indian athletes progressing to medal-deciding rounds.
