Aston Villa to host Brentford at Villa Park on Matchday 6 of 2026-27 Premier League
Aston Villa will host Brentford at Villa Park on Saturday, October 10, 2026, in a Matchday 6 fixture of the Premier League 2026-27 season. The match arrives with pre-match updates and confirmed starting lineups being circulated ahead of kick-off.
The two clubs have recorded contrasting starts to the new campaign. Villa endured a four-match winless run that included three defeats before ending that sequence with a 3-2 victory away at Tottenham Hotspur. Unai Emery’s side have won three of their four matches across all competitions since and sit 16th in the league table. Manager Emery will be seeking to translate the recent uptick in form into improved league results.
Brentford remain unbeaten in their five Premier League matches to date, with two wins and three draws in the league so far. They began the campaign with a 3-0 win against Tottenham and after three draws followed that up with a 3-0 victory over Chelsea in their most recent outing. Keith Andrews’ side have not lost in nine matches across all competitions and have scored at least twice in five of those games.
Individual form figures into both teams’ hopes. Manzambi, who signed for Aston Villa in the summer, has been a regular in midfield and is noted in the pre-match coverage as controlling the tempo of Villa’s play. For Brentford, Schade has scored three league goals, including two in the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth, and had a relatively quiet outing while on international duty prior to this fixture.
There are clear standings implications attached to the result: a win for Aston Villa would provisionally move them to 11th place in the table, while a Brentford victory would lift the visitors into the top three; pre-match notes identify Brentford as entering the fixture as the favourites. Team selection and tactics for both sides will determine whether Villa can halt Brentford’s unbeaten run.
