Atlanta United vs Inter Miami: MLS Round 30 preview, lineups and prediction

Atlanta United will host Inter Miami at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Oct 17 in their round 30 fixture of the 2026 Major League Soccer regular season, with the preview predicting a 2-3 win for the visitors.

Atlanta United arrive after a 3-0 victory over CF Montreal and sit 14th in the Eastern Conference with eight wins from 29 matches; Gerardo Martino’s side will be aiming to follow up that dominant result while the preview notes they need consistency in their performances to outplay Lionel Messi and company.

Inter Miami come into the match on the back of a 2-0 win against New York City FC, having recorded two consecutive victories and two straight clean sheets, and the side coached by Kily González will seek to build on that run.

Miguel Almirón, one of Atlanta’s scorers in the most recent match, is expected to try to replicate that form; the preview describes the 32-year-old as capable of playing on the wings and operating in midfield. The article also reports that Lionel Messi, the 39-year-old Argentine, provided a crucial assist in Inter Miami’s last game and has 37 goal contributions in 26 MLS appearances this season.

Injury news lists Atlanta United without Will Reilly because of an ankle injury, while Inter Miami will be missing Yannick Bright, Tadeo Allende and Mateo Silvetti due to injury. The projected lineups provided are: "Hoyos (GK); Edwards, Diaz, Alonso, Baez; Amaro; Miranchuk, Fortune, Galoppo, Almiron; Embolo" and "St. Clair (GK); Lujan, Casemiro, Micael, Reguilon; De Paul, Ayala, Galarza; Messi, Suarez, Berterame."

The preview states that recent results between the two clubs leave Atlanta under pressure despite home advantage, and that Inter Miami will look to use that situation to their benefit.

The encounter is scheduled for Oct 17 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and, according to the preview, fans can watch Major League Soccer matches live on Apple TV; for further updates the article directs readers to follow Khel Now on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and to use the Khel Now Android and iOS apps or join its WhatsApp and Telegram communities.
