Auqib Nabi and Naman Dhir earn first India ODI call-ups for West Indies series
Auqib Nabi and Naman Dhir have been named in India’s ODI squad for the home series against the West Indies, which begins in Thiruvananthapuram on September 27. The selections represent maiden ODI call-ups for both players.
The three-match ODI series overlaps with the Asian Games, prompting selectors to avoid squad conflicts between the events. Nitish Kumar, who had been named in the Asian Games squad, was withdrawn from that contingent and added to the ODI group. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja are included in the ODI squad while Shubman Gill will lead the side. Rohit scored a hundred in the final game at Lord’s during the ODIs against England in July amid speculation about his future in the format.
