AJ Auxerre cancelled a pre-season friendly against Paris FC that had been due to take place at Paris FC on August 12, ahead of the Ligue 1 2026-27 campaign. The decision was announced without a specific reason from Auxerre.

Paris FC are managed by Liam Rosenior and Auxerre by William Still; the match formed part of both clubs’ preparation for the upcoming Ligue 1 season. The fixture had been included on the clubs’ pre-season schedules as a warm-up ahead of competitive action.

Paris FC have played three pre-season matches so far and have not recorded a win. In their most recent friendly they trailed by two goals after 55 minutes against VfB Stuttgart before 21-year-old Luca Koleosho scored a brace to help Paris FC secure a draw.

Auxerre’s build-up has produced four friendlies with one victory, a 5-2 win over fourth-tier St Maur Lusitanos. Their recent results prompted concerns about defensive issues in the William Still-led side, and their last outing ended in a goalless draw.

Auxerre issued the cancellation and did not provide a specific reason for calling the August 12 match off. The report noted "it has to be related to the squad’s workload."

Auxerre are scheduled to play a club friendly against Werder Bremen on Sunday, August 16. Paris FC finished 11th in Ligue 1 last season while Auxerre finished 15th and barely avoided relegation.
