Barcelona Femení and Paris Saint-Germain named Club of the Year at Ballon d’Or 2026

Barcelona Femení and Paris Saint-Germain were named the Women’s and Men’s Club of the Year respectively at the Ballon d’Or 2026 ceremony. The awards recognised the two clubs’ performances across the most recent campaign and were announced as part of the Ballon d’Or 2026 results.
The Club of the Year Award was first presented in 2021 and has been handed out annually since, covering the best-performing men’s and women’s clubs. A separate Women’s Club of the Year prize was introduced in 2023, when Barcelona were named the inaugural winner; the Catalans also took the women’s award in 2024.
Paris Saint-Germain secured the Men’s Club of the Year prize for the second successive year after a season that included retaining the UEFA Champions League, with PSG defeating Arsenal on penalties in the final to win the title for a second straight time. A social media post at the ceremony read: "PSG IS THE MEN’S CLUB OF THE YEAR! Bravo Paris! 🔴🔵#ballondor pic.twitter.com/MTOjrwxLd8"
PSG’s squad supplemented its European success with domestic honours, adding another Ligue 1 championship under manager Luis Enrique. The club also collected the UEFA Super Cup during the same stretch of results.
FC Barcelona Femení claimed the Women’s Club of the Year award for the third time in four years after a season that produced a record-breaking UEFA Women’s Champions League trophy and a domestic treble. The ceremony’s social media feed posted: "FC BARCELONA FEMINI IS THE WOMEN’S CLUB OF THE YEAR! ❤️💙#ballondor pic.twitter.com/Ys8pm76EQq"
Barcelona completed their continental triumph on May 23, 2026, when they beat Lyon 4-0 in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final to secure a fourth Champions League crown, alongside domestic league and cup victories. The club’s repeated presence on shortlists and high rankings was noted as evidence of its concentration of elite talent.
For the Ballon d’Or 2026 Club of the Year honours, PSG repeated as Men’s Club of the Year while Barcelona Femení once again won the Women’s Club of the Year, marking a continued run of recognition for both clubs.
