Barcelona have submitted an increased offer to Manchester City for Spain midfielder Rodri as part of ongoing transfer talks, according to reports on 8 August 2026.

Sport (in Spanish) reports the bid is worth £51.4m for Rodri, 30, and describes the approach as an escalation in negotiations between the two clubs.

The Sun reports Cristian Romero would like to join Arsenal, but Tottenham have no intention of allowing the 28-year-old Argentina centre-back to move to their north London rivals. Mundo Deportivo adds Romero is also an option for Barcelona, and that Barcelona are set to let Uruguay centre-back Ronald Araujo, 27, join Liverpool on loan.

The Athletic reports Nottingham Forest are set to sign Ivory Coast centre-back Ousmane Diomande, 22, from Sporting for £34m. The item is presented as a completed agreement between the clubs and includes the transfer fee and player age.

ESPN reports Spain forward Ferran Torres, 26, has told Barcelona he wants to join Paris St-Germain after agreeing personal terms with the European champions. The report ties Torres’s preference to the personal terms he has reached with PSG.

The Times reports Everton and Crystal Palace have held talks over a potential swap deal involving English winger Dwight McNeil, 26, and Palace's Wales winger Brennan Johnson, 25. Football Insider reports Tottenham have held advanced talks with Manchester City over signing Brazil winger Savinho, 22, with a package worth £60m believed to be enough, and The Athletic says Aston Villa are closing in on a full agreement to sign Matteo Ruggeri, 24, from Atletico Madrid.

Football Insider reports Southampton's Shea Charles, 22, could still move to Leeds if they offer more than Fulham's current £30m bid for the Northern Ireland midfielder. Bild reports Niclas Fullkrug has agreed terms with Venezia but the move has been blocked because of West Ham's asking price for the 33-year-old Germany striker. The Athletic reports West Ham have reached an agreement in principle to sign Israel winger Manor Solomon, 27, from Tottenham, and Gazzetta dello Sport reports Fenerbahce are set to finalise a deal to sign Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku, 33, from Napoli, who will owe Chelsea a sell-on fee.

The round-up also referenced "Man City explore Fernandez move" as Saturday's gossip and attributed individual items to outlets including Sport, Sun, Mundo Deportivo, Athletic, ESPN, Times, Football Insider, Bild and Gazzetta dello Sport.
