Jamal Musiala collapsed during Bayern Munich’s Telekom Cup friendly against RB Leipzig on Saturday and the club’s chief, Max Eberl, said the midfielder is recovering well following the incident; the episode occurred in the closing minutes of Bayern’s 3-1 victory.

Musiala had been introduced late by Vincent Kompany but was replaced barely 15 minutes after coming on. The stumble happened three minutes after the German team scored, with Musiala beginning to wobble with no one behind him before he went to ground.

He fell unconscious and was treated later by Bayern medical staff. After receiving attention on the pitch he was allowed to walk away following treatment.

Ismael Saibari was one of the first players to reach Musiala, with other Bayern teammates and club medical personnel also coming to his aid. According to BILD, the player grew disoriented while playing in temperatures around 33 degrees in Bavaria, which caused circulation issues.

Bayern Munich chief Max Eberl said: "The most important thing is that he is well. There’s nothing more to say about anything else." Yes, he has returned to training.

Musiala fractured his leg during Bayern’s Club World Cup match against Paris Saint-Germain last summer and returned to Bundesliga play in early 2026. He was an important player for Germany in the World Cup 2026, but Julian Nagelsmann’s team was unexpectedly ousted in the round of 32 by Paraguay.

Bayern will face Heidenheim in their next practice match as part of preparations for the upcoming season, which begins on August 22 with a German Super Cup clash against Borussia Dortmund.
