BBC to show 38 live Serie A matches this season

BBC ALBA and BBC Sport will broadcast 38 live matches from Italy's Serie A this season, beginning on Sunday with Atalanta v Sassuolo (BBC ALBA & iPlayer from 19:35 BST). The arrangement will see one league match shown per round on BBC platforms.
BBC ALBA will air 19 live fixtures with Gaelic and English co-commentary, while BBC Sport will stream a further 19 matches on BBC iPlayer with English commentary. The broadcasters confirmed the split of fixtures as part of the new agreement. The deal adds to BBC Sport's European football portfolio, which features Bundesliga and La Liga clips.
Former Hibernian pair Kieron Bowie and Josh Doig will be in the Sassuolo squad for the trip to Bergamo. Their inclusion relates to the opening fixture between Atalanta and Sassuolo. That match will be available on BBC ALBA and BBC iPlayer from 19:35 BST.
Napoli star Scott McTominay remains the main Scottish draw for the league. Club-mate Billy Gilmour is returning from the knee injury that cost him a place at the World Cup. Gilmour will hope to feature more prominently under new manager Massimiliano Allegri.
A Coppa Italia winner in 2025, fellow Scotland midfielder Lewis Ferguson is preparing for his fifth campaign with Bologna. Torino striker Che Adams and Udinese teenager Lennon Miller make up part of the Scottish international contingent in Serie A. England defenders Djed Spence and John Stones both joined champions Inter Milan this summer.
AC Milan pair Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have both represented England in the past. New Cagliari midfielder Harry Winks has also represented England. Djed Spence, Billy Gilmour, Scott McTominay and John Stones are among the British players competing in Serie A this season.
The first of the 38 live broadcasts will be Atalanta v Sassuolo on Sunday on BBC ALBA and BBC iPlayer from 19:35 BST. That fixture opens the one-match-per-round schedule agreed between the broadcasters and Serie A for the season.
