BCCI announces WPL 2027 schedule with Vadodara and Mumbai sharing hosting duties

The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the full schedule and venues for the fifth edition of the Women's Premier League on Tuesday, confirming the tournament will be played in Vadodara and Mumbai from January 14 to February 7, 2027.
The competition will comprise 22 matches, with each city staging 11 fixtures. The first phase will run at the BCA Stadium in Kotambi, Vadodara, from January 14 to 24, before the event moves to Mumbai for the remaining league games, playoffs and the final.
Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru begin their title defence against two-time winners Mumbai Indians in the opening match on January 14. All five teams will take part in the Vadodara phase, with Gujarat Giants scheduled to face UP Warriorz in the second match on January 15.
Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium, operated by the Cricket Club of India, will host the second leg of the league and the knockout matches. The Mumbai portion opens on January 26 with a repeat of the opening fixture as Mumbai Indians take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
The league stage is set to finish on February 3, with Delhi Capitals meeting UP Warriorz in the final league fixture. Every match across both phases has been scheduled to start at 7:30 PM IST.
The Eliminator, contested by the teams finishing second and third in the league table, will be played on February 5 at the Brabourne Stadium. The side that tops the points table will advance directly to the final, which is scheduled for February 7 at the same venue, while the team in fourth place will be eliminated at the end of the league stage.
"The Vadodara leg will run until January 24, featuring 11 matches as the five teams begin their campaign in the race for the title. The action will then shift to Mumbai, where the Cricket Club of India's Brabourne Stadium will host the remaining 11 matches from January 26," the BCCI said in its release.
The previous edition of the five-team competition was staged across Navi Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium and Vadodara; DY Patil Stadium is currently undergoing renovation, prompting the change in venue arrangement for 2027, as the tournament runs from January 14 to February 7 and concludes with the final at Brabourne Stadium on February 7.
