Bengaluru FC defeated Sporting Club Delhi 3-2 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru in the Indian Super League 2026-27 opener on October 10, 2026. Menno Koch's 89th-minute header produced the winner in front of an estimated 10,600-odd crowd.

Spanish forward Borja Martinez opened the scoring for Bengaluru in the 22nd minute, marking his ISL debut with a left-footed finish past SC Delhi goalkeeper Nora Fernandes. That strike gave the home side the early lead.
SC Delhi levelled through Rodriguinho in the 26th minute after he connected with a perfectly weighted through ball from Lalrinliana Hnamte. The visitors then grabbed a 2-1 lead in the 32nd minute when Colombian Juan Pena bypassed Chinglensana Singh and sent a ball across goal that Menno Koch diverted into his own net.
Bengaluru continued to press and Martinez restored parity in the 75th minute, running on to a pinpoint pass from Mihailo Perovic before firing a fierce left-footed finish. Following that goal, Ryan Williams and Mihailo Perovic missed several chances as Bengaluru searched for a winner.
SC Delhi goalkeeper Nora Fernandes produced a series of saves to deny the home side, his most notable intervention coming in the 85th minute when he stretched his right hand to deny Williams from point-blank range. Fernandes's stops kept the match level until the final moments.
Koch redeemed himself by heading home the decisive goal in the 89th minute to complete a 3-2 victory for Bengaluru (Borja Martinez 22, 75; Menno Koch 89) over SC Delhi (Rodriguinho 26; Menno Koch-og 32). The result gave Bengaluru FC the victory in the ISL 2026-27 opener.
