Bengaluru FC sign Montenegro striker Mihailo Perović ahead of 2026–27 ISL season

Bengaluru FC have announced the signing of Montenegrin striker Mihailo Perović ahead of the 2026–27 Indian Super League season. The 29-year-old centre forward joins the Blues after featuring for Persebaya Surabaya in the 2025–26 season.
Perović was born in Podgorica, Montenegro, and has played professionally across Europe and Asia. He began his senior career with Újpest FC in Hungary before moving on to Voždovac (Serbia), Budućnost Podgorica (Montenegro), Zorya Lugansk (Ukraine) and NK Olimpija (Slovenia), later returning to Montenegro with FK Iskra and FK Jezero. The club announcement notes he has competed across six countries and two continents.
In Indonesia with Persebaya Surabaya during the 2025–26 Super League season, Perović registered 6 goals and 1 assist. Those numbers were cited in the club’s release announcing his move to Bengaluru FC.
On his transfer Perović said, “When I heard about the project with Bengaluru FC, I was more than happy to accept it because I wanted to have a new challenge in a different country. I am really looking forward to this chapter in India, and I cannot wait to get started”. BFC Head Coach Pep Muñoz added: “Mihailo is a player who fits perfectly with how we want to build the team for the coming season. He is an intense, physical, and imposing striker with experience in Europe and Indonesia, but most importantly, he’s a team player. We’re glad to have him at the club and look forward to welcoming him soon.”
The signing follows earlier summer moves by Bengaluru FC, who secured Spanish player Borja Martinez on a one-year contract and Portuguese defender Sandro Embalo until the end of the 2026-27 season. The club also added 33-year-old Argentine midfielder Manuel de Iriondo from Krasava ENY.
Bengaluru FC have extended defender Harsh Palande’s contract until the end of the 2028-29 season and renewed club captain Sunil Chhetri’s deal for one more year; the club announced departures that include Rahul Bheke, Namgyal Bhutia, Braian Sanchez and Siroj Kuziev.
