Bengaluru winter meeting begins on November 1 with total purse of ₹13.96 crore

The 24-race-day Bengaluru winter meeting began on November 1 in Bengaluru and will offer total prize money of ₹13.96 crore. The opening day’s races were cancelled after a paucity of entries.
The meeting is scheduled to run across 24 race days with fixtures concentrated predominantly on Fridays and Saturdays. Organisers announced the prize structure and related details in a notice published on November 6, 2026. The schedule for subsequent race days remains aligned to the Friday–Saturday pattern.
Minimum guaranteed stakes have been set for the meeting’s principal events: the 1000 Guineas, 2000 Guineas and the Oaks will each carry guaranteed purses of ₹50 lakh. These amounts are listed as the minimum guaranteed stakes for those Classic races.
The Winter Derby has been assigned ₹1.5 crore in prize money under the meeting’s announced allocations. That allocation forms part of the overall ₹13.96 crore season purse.
Zavaray S. Poonawalla will contribute 30% of the aforementioned stakes for the Classics. The 30% contribution applies to the minimum guaranteed stakes for the 1000 Guineas, 2000 Guineas and Oaks.
Racing will continue with events largely scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays for the remainder of the meeting, following the cancellation of the opening day card.
