Bologna to host Inter Milan at Renato Dall’Ara in Serie A matchweek seven on October 17

Bologna FC will host FC Internazionale Milano at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in the seventh matchweek of the Serie A 2026-27 season on October 17, with both sides entering the fixture on contrasting recent form.

Bologna come into the game having beaten Lecce 2-1 in their most recent league outing, a victory the club recorded as their first of the Italian top division this season after converting chances in the final third; Raffaele Palladino’s side are looking to build on that result at home and improve midfield control.

Nerazzurri coach Cristian Chivu’s team remain unbeaten in Serie A so far but arrived to this round following a 3-4 defeat to Club Brugge in the Champions League, a match in which their defence was described as vulnerable and in which a 22-year-old Ivory Coast forward scored a sensational goal for Inter.

Nicolò Cambiaghi, aged 25, was a standout for Bologna in the Lecce game, supplying two assists and creating the most chances (5) while operating on the left flank; Ange-Yoan Bonny is set to take on a more prominent attacking role for Inter in the absence of Lautaro Martinez.

Injury and fitness concerns have shaped selection options: Bologna will be without Jens Odgaard, Riccardo Orsolini and Emil Holm through injury, while Arthur Theate and Samuel Mbanguna might miss out due to fitness issues; Inter will be without John Stones, Curtis Jones and Lautaro Martinez because of injury.

Projected lineups provided list Bologna as: Pessina (GK); Darmian, Casale, Heggem; Zortea, Ferguson, Pobega, Miranda; Bernardeschi, Piccoli, Cambiaghi. FC Internazionale Milano are shown as: Martinez (GK); Bisseck, Akanji, Bastoni; Diouf, Sucic, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Bonny.

The preview anticipates a tight contest with Inter rated likely to prevail, offering a prediction of Bologna 1-2 Inter Milan for the Serie A fixture.
