Liverpool beat Bournemouth 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium in their matchweek 5 fixture of the English Premier League 2026-27 campaign. The victory was Liverpool's second of the Premier League season while Bournemouth remain without a win.

The win came by a narrow margin rather than a dominant scoreline, and the visitors managed multiple attempts with only two on target. Andoni Iraola got a victory on his return against his previous club. Bournemouth have still not secured a win in the Premier League 2026-27 campaign.

AFC Bournemouth started the game strongly and looked solid at the back in the opening stages, but they failed to convert opportunities which allowed Liverpool to grow into the match. As the game progressed the hosts ceded more chances to the visitors, increasing pressure on their defence. That shift left Bournemouth exposed after Liverpool broke the deadlock.

Alexander Isak produced the decisive moment, scoring for Liverpool in the 57th minute. With his match-winning goal against Bournemouth, the Swedish forward has now scored four goals in his five Premier League appearances this season. The report added that it will be interesting to see Alexander Isak’s performances after the international window.

The home side created openings but were unable to find the finishing touch; out of their eight shots, only two were on target and neither went in. The Marco Rose will not be happy with this result at the Vitality Stadium. The team is surely capable of scoring goals, but they completely lacked the finishing touch today.

Bournemouth tested Liverpool's defence at several points but could not convert chances into goals. Alisson made an important save from Evanilson, while Joe Gomez and the rest of the defensive unit helped the Reds preserve their clean sheet. Bournemouth created opportunities but could not find the final touch needed to beat Liverpool.

After Liverpool’s frustrating 0-0 draw against Fulham, the 1-0 victory provided a positive result before the international break. "Heading into the international break with a win 😍 #BOULIV pic.twitter.com/Etp4qEgPCN"
