Brazil Legends to face Indian All Stars in Kochi Titan Series match

Brazil Legends will face Indian All Stars at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Wednesday night in a Titan Series exhibition match, organisers said.

Gammen Sports & Entertainment is staging the fixture.

The match carries a strong nostalgia element, with memories of Ronaldinho and Rivaldo from the World Cup linked to the venue.

Supporters may also recall goals by I.M. Vijayan and Jo Paul Ancheri at the stadium, and they may not mind some moments of magic from Ronaldinho and Rivaldo, in particular.

Organisers described the game as the second act of the return of the Titan series, and the first match of the revived series, played in Chennai last year, ended 2-1 in Brazil's favour.

The Brazil Legends squad includes Ronaldinho and Rivaldo. The Brazilian side also includes Edmilson, Paulo Sergio, Giovanni, Roque Junior, Viola, Gomes, Amaral, Gustavo Nery, Ricardo Oliveira, Jorginho, Camanducaia, Elivelton, Souza, Para and Diogo. Those players were named in the match announcement.

The Indian All Stars line-up features Bhaichung Bhutia, C.K. Vineeth, Mohammed Rafi, Climax Lawrence, M.V. Nelson, Gouramangi Singh, Arnab Mandal, Mahesh Gawli, Mehrajuddin Wadoo and Mehtab Hossain. The selection appears as part of the organisers' announced squad for the fixture.

The match kicks off at 7.30 p.m. and will be played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi.
