In England, amateur cricketer Brian Devine, nicknamed "Clicky Ponting", was banned from cricket for two years after a viral video appeared to show him faking an edge by clicking his fingers, the Times of India reported on November 6, 2026.
Saltburn CC’s second XI were relegated and handed a 60-point deduction. Several public figures criticised the incident, while cricket commentators said the backlash against the amateur cricketer was excessive.
