Brie Bella sidelined with broken scapula after SummerSlam 2026; return timeline unclear

Brie Bella suffered a broken scapula during a six-woman tag match at WWE SummerSlam 2026 while teaming with Nikki Bella and Paige against Fatal Influence. She underwent a scan on October 1 and provided an update on her condition afterwards.
Brie had returned to WWE at the 2026 Royal Rumble Premium Live Event before the SummerSlam injury interrupted her run. The setback halted major creative plans for the Bella Twins. As of this writing it has been two months since the injury occurred. She did not have surgery and doctors have given her a recovery window of 3-6 months. Brie discussed her progress on The Nikki and Brie Show following the October 1 scan.
The SummerSlam contest was a six-woman tag in which Brie teamed with sister Nikki Bella and Paige. Their opponents were Fatal Influence — Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid. It was during that match that Brie sustained the broken scapula.
On The Nikki and Brie Show Brie said she remains distant from returning to in-ring competition. "I still think my days to be in-ring are still far, unfortunately. And just so you all know, I’m not the type of girl anymore who’s going to rush things, So for me it’s like making sure my bones are fused, then next going back into the right type of exercise, getting my body strong. And then the next is getting back into practicing in the ring and making sure my in-ring work is back to par. I don’t want to be rusty in the ring anymore. I want all of it out before I make that comeback, but I’ll keep you guys updated." She reiterated that she does not want to rush her recovery or return to poor performances.
In a prior interview Brie said she was targeting her WWE return before the 2027 Royal Rumble Premium Live Event. That event is set to take place in her hometown of Arizona in February next year.
Her stated target remains a return before the 2027 Royal Rumble Premium Live Event in Arizona in February, but there is no confirmation of her return timeline.
