Brij Bhushan acquitted as court flags possible political agendas and akhada links

Former WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was found not guilty in a sexual harassment case in a court ruling published on August 10, 2026.

The court said it uncovered potential political agendas behind the allegations, noted connections between the complainants, a specific wrestling akhada and political entities, scrutinised addresses shared by complainants, and recorded that some complainants remained in contact with Singh after the accusations.

Singh reacted to the acquittal by alleging a conspiracy and citing "akhada" and political links.
