Cannabis smoke from Corona Park distracts players at 2026 US Open

At the start of the 2026 US Open in New York, players — including Britons Katie Boulter, Fran Jones and Harriet Dart — reported that cannabis smoke drifting from nearby Corona Park was distracting them at Flushing Meadows.

Katie Boulter said the smell affected her concentration, while Fran Jones and Harriet Dart also noticed it. The issue has surfaced repeatedly at Flushing Meadows, and the USTA said it cannot control activity beyond tournament grounds.
