The Arizona Cardinals rallied to beat the Dallas Cowboys in overtime at AT+T Stadium on Sunday after Chad Ryland converted a 42-yard field goal, and Baltimore coach Jesse Minter said Lamar Jackson needs surgery on an injured right thumb and his season could be over.

Arizona improved to 3-5 while Dallas fell to 3-5 as Gardner Minshew drove the Cardinals 80 yards in eight plays to tie the game at 30-30 with a 14-yard touchdown pass to Michael Wilson with six seconds remaining; Ryland had missed the ensuing PAT after making his previous 58 and then booted the overtime winner. The Cardinals’ victory was their fifth straight over the Cowboys and extended their perfect record at AT+T Stadium to 5-0 since it opened in 2009. Tyler Allgeier’s second-half heroics kept Arizona in the game: a career-long 63-yard touchdown run and a 50-yard run that set up his five-yard touchdown catch on which he finished with 191 scrimmage yards (147 rushing, 44 receiving), with all but seven of those yards coming after half-time.

The Buffalo Bills capitalised on injuries to the Baltimore quarterbacks and beat the Ravens as Josh Allen set the franchise mark for career touchdown passes and rushed for a score. Allen’s 11-yard scoring pass to DJ Moore with 12:18 left was the 259th of his career, a mark that includes postseason play, and he finished 21-of-34 for 289 yards and one interception as Buffalo (6-1) won their third straight. The Ravens (4-4) lost quarterbacks Lamar Jackson (right thumb) and Tyler “Snoop” Huntley (right toe) in the first half; Jackson had missed the previous three games with a left ankle injury and, after the game, coach Jesse Minter said: “That’ll be a surgery deal. He’ll go to [injured reserve],” Minter said. “That’s a tough deal.” James Cook III rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown for Buffalo.

Jared Goff’s seven-yard touchdown pass to Jameson Williams with 4:35 left lifted the Detroit Lions to a win over the Minnesota Vikings, handing the NFL’s last unbeaten team its first loss. The Lions improved to 5-2 with their third straight victory and have won their first two division games in the NFC North; the Vikings (6-1) lost for the first time since 30 November 2025. Detroit lost an All-Pro linebacker to a neck injury who was taken to hospital after being placed on a backboard and carted off early in the fourth quarter; Lions coach Dan Campbell said he did not have any additional information after the game. “We’re thinking about him,” he said.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers produced a rushing clinic on a wet field to beat the Atlanta Falcons while Baker Mayfield failed to complete a pass. Tampa Bay set a franchise record with 324 yards rushing — Bucky Irving ran for 170 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries and Kenny Gainwell ran for 140 on 25 carries — and became the first team to register zero completions in a game since Buffalo in September 1974; Chase McLaughlin kicked three field goals to remain perfect this season. Mayfield was 0 for 3 passing, Atlanta’s Michael Penix Jr threw four interceptions, and both teams are 3-5.

Jaylen Warren tied a career high with 143 rushing yards and a touchdown on his 28th birthday to lead the Pittsburgh Steelers to a victory over the Cleveland Browns, moving Pittsburgh into first place alone at 6-2. The Steelers dominated the line of scrimmage, rushing for 200 yards including 160 in the first half, and sacked Deshaun Watson eight times as Cleveland dropped to 5-3; Pittsburgh’s win was their 23rd straight regular-season home victory over the Browns, tying an NFL record.

Joe Burrow threw five touchdown passes in regulation and then scrambled untouched for a nine-yard score in overtime as the Cincinnati Bengals rallied to beat the Tennessee Titans, a win that gave Cincinnati a third straight victory and a 5-2 record for the first time since the 2021 season. The Bengals received the ball first in overtime and went 70 yards in five plays; Tennessee (1-7) had taken an early 13-0 lead and the fourth quarter saw three lead changes and a tie. Cam Ward recorded the first 300-yard passing game of his two-year career but ended the contest by throwing incomplete on fourth down.

Trevor Lawrence threw three touchdown passes, including one to Brian Thomas Jr, and connected with Bhayshul Tuten and rookie Nate Boerkircher on a 31-yarder as the Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Indianapolis Colts to reach 5-2; the result came five days after the 2-6 Colts traded defensive tackle DeForest Buckner and guard Quenton Nelson. Kirk Cousins completed 19 of 26 passes for 247 yards, threw three touchdowns (two in the second half) and ran for another to lead the Las Vegas Raiders to a comeback win over the New York Jets, erasing a pair of nine-point deficits and scoring 17 of the game’s final 20 points to stop a four-game skid and move Las Vegas to 4-4, while New York fell to 2-6 after scoring on its first six possessions but frequently stalling in the red zone.

The weekend’s results left several teams clustered atop the early-season standings: Buffalo stood at 6-1, Pittsburgh at 6-2, and Cincinnati, Jacksonville and Detroit at 5-2, while Dallas slid to 3-5 and Arizona improved to 3-5.
