Case Keenum leads Bears to 27-7 win over Eagles in first start since 2023

Case Keenum starred as the Chicago Bears beat the Philadelphia Eagles 27-7 at Soldier Field in Chicago on 29 September 2026, in his first NFL start since December 2023. He threw for 247 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for a touchdown in the victory.

The 38-year-old's performance was his first game with multiple touchdowns since October 2019, and he became the oldest player to score a rushing touchdown for the Bears. Keenum, described in the report as an NFL journeyman at his eighth franchise, was called into action after a knee injury to Caleb Williams and a concussion to Tyson Bagent.

Keenum's opening possession ended with a touchdown catch by Luther Burden III. Cairo Santos then converted a 29-yard field goal for Chicago. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts responded with a rushing touchdown to reduce the Bears' half-time lead to 10-7.

Santos added a second field goal early in the third quarter. Chicago then produced two touchdowns as part of a 17-point unanswered stretch. One of those scoring plays came from wide receiver Kalif Raymond.

Wide receiver Kalif Raymond, who scored a touchdown, said: "He was like, 'I may not be a cowboy, but this is definitely not my first rodeo - a lot of confidence in him; a lot of confidence in himself. "He practises, preps every week, but particularly this week. We didn't expect anything different from him." The Bears defence limited the Eagles to 248 yards.

Chicago also recorded interceptions involving both Jalen Hurts and replacement Andy Dalton. The result was the Eagles' first defeat of the season. The Bears secured a 27-7 victory at Soldier Field.
